Also fast mesh WiFi, 8 TVs stream Netflix, Amazon Video, Music and more! The Lodge sleeps 24, 3 kitchens, 3 dining, 1 bar, 4 baths, and 3 laundries. This lodge-style 6500 sq ft home is part of Freebird Ranch and sits on 2 of the entire 20 acres. The lodge and lawn are yours exclusively. The Lodge sleeps up to 24 total, with 3 kitchens, 3 dining, 1 bar, 3 1/2 baths, and 3 laundries. The Lodge at Nemo is the entire residence. No part of the Lodge is shared with others, your entrances, yards and decks are all exclusive to you. A 40' heated salt water swimming pool (seasonal, approximately June through September) and a rec-room with pool-table, foosball, and exercise equipment are on the Ranch property and are for all Freebird Ranch guests (10am to 8pm). Also for all to enjoy is the walking path along Box Elder creek. The main floor (the Eagle) is an amzing 2600 square feet of interior space. First, there is a beautiful chandelier that spreads a glow throughout the foyer and the floor to ceiling mossy rock gas fireplace. The golden light really brings out the warmth of the red oak wood flooring and the golden logs that frame the great room. In the living room hangs our 6 foot wide bronze eagle created for Bruce by his good friend and bronze sculptor, Nick Swearer. To your right is a full kitchen with cherry cabinets and marble countertops. There is also a bar that sits eight in comfortable leather and walnut bar stools. The center of the kitchen is the commercial grade Viking range. The refrigerator has filtered delicious mountain well water. There is a dishwasher and the range/oven even has a pot filler and a griddle. This kitchen is set up for a chef and even has a butler's pantry attached. There are two sinks, as well! The kitchen is furnished with utensils, spices, condiments, pots and pans, dishes, silverware and kitchen linens. The dining area has a Brazilia walnut oblong table with eight chairs. There is a Brazilia hutch that holds vintage dishes and silverware for use during special occasions. Throughout the great room's numerous windows you have a view of the bluff. (We named our ranch Freebird for many reasons, one of them being that we have so many different species of birds that visit our property. There are Eagles, Herons and Mountain Bluebirds, to name a few.) The magnificent fireplace is a double view unit and is central to the great room. The comfortable fire is seen when you enter the residence and when you walk around to the living room. While in the living room, sitting or standing, you have a beautiful view of the bluff and the fireplace. This room is decorated in softly hued fabrics and leathers and has a golden soft glow. There is a flat screen television in the living room with a streaming Roku and DVD player and lots of DVDs on hand. The main master bedroom may be accessed through the great room or through the mud room. This bedroom is quite large and has two comfortable hotel quality queen beds. In addition, there are two velvet club chairs and a walnut dresser. There is a flat screen television with video streaming and dvd player in the bedroom. The bath has a garden jet tub, a five head shower stall with built in settee, a separate toilet, double vanities and a walk in closet. There is an additional door that can be used as access to the bathroom by others, as well. The other bathroom in the house is off of the foyer and is a single vanity with a toilet. Bathrooms are furnished with towels, tissue, various over-the-counter medicines, some vitamins, toothpaste, soap, shampoo, conditioner, body soap, makeup remover wipes, q-tips, cotton balls, paper towels and more. The second bedroom is accessed through the hallway to the left of the foyer. This bedroom has two queen platform beds with hotel quality linens. The design in this room very relaxing with a love seat and club chair to chill or read a book. There is a flat screened television with video streaming and dvd in the bedroom. There is a patio door with entrance to the deck, as well. There is a mudroom with a full sized washer and dryer set, more counter and cabinet space and another sink. We allow pets, but with rules. They must be on-leash when outside, and be kenneled indoors when you go out. We also supply lint rollers, upholstery cleaners, and spot removers, if you should need it. At the end of the mudroom's hallway there is a small room and we have a small table and a few chairs there for someone to work on art, or put a puzzle together. In the Eagle there are stairs that take you downstairs to The Heron: Downstairs from the stairway entrance (which can be locked) opens up into 2400 square feet of interior space with patio doors out to the lower deck, which is concrete. The flooring is Adura Tempo Steel (a light gray vinyl tile). We chose this tile because it does not require glue for installation, therefore helping to keep our property free of VOCs. The foyer has a double view fireplace, just like upstairs, however, this one is brick. The kitchen is danish modern, as is the dining room. The living room is furnished with reupholstered vintage couches from the 50s and 60s. The colors are soft and refreshing. There is a television/Roku/DVD in the living room. Under the stairs there is space for a closet and we turned that into your own laundry room with full sized washer and dryer. All windows in the Heron face the mountain. From the living room you have the door to the master bedroom. This room has two queen platform beds with hotel quality linens. There's a sitting area and a flat screen television in the bedroom. Down the hallway is the full bathroom with tiled walls and floors. At the end of the hallway is the entrance to the guest bedroom. This bedroom has two queen platform beds with hotel quality linens. There is a lounge area here, as well. This room has a patio door to the lower deck. There is also a flat screen television in the bedroom. From the lower back deck, the top level back deck and from the front of the residence you can access the next space, The Bluebird: Separate 1150 sqft space is the most private of them all since it has no one living above or below. Upon entering from the front of the residence there is a foyer with a bench and coat hanging area. The first thing you will see though is a floor to ceiling gas fireplace and beautiful walnut furniture. And then the view of the mountain from the floor to ceiling windows. This view is spectacular! There is a flat screen television with streaming Roku and DVD player in the living room. The kitchen cabinets are walnut and the counter tops are charcoal gray. The flooring is the same gray tile that is in the Heron. There is a patio door that takes you to the upper cedar deck and allows you access to the Eagle. There are numerous lounging areas on all of the decks, with large capacity occupancy in mind. There are spaces, as well that accommodate a smaller group. Down the hallway in the Bluebird you will find two bedrooms, each with two platform queen beds with hotel quality linens. Bedrooms have radiant heat and flat screen televisions. Rooms have been soundproofed. There is also a full bathroom with a double sink vanity. For outdoor cooking we have three barbecues outside on the grass. We do not allow barbecues on our decks. We provide barbecue utensils, the propane, tin foil, paper plates and plastic cups. If you use more than we have, we ask that you provide those on your own. You have entire Lodge and its greenbelt all to yourself. The barn is detached and is about 75 feet away from the lodge. It is a shared space. The pool and rec-room is on another parcel and can be seen from your deck. It is also a shared space. We have plenty of parking at the Lodge and more by the storage building. We also have a helicopter pad if you choose to 'chopper' in. We live in a property adjacent to this property, so we are close by if you need us. Nemo is centrally located in the Black Hills with easy access to the cities of Deadwood, Rapid City, Sturgis, Spearfish, and Hill City to name a few. Also in the area are many popular destinations such as Mount Rushmore, Devil's Tower, Crazy Horse Memorial, Custer State Park, The Badlands, The Needles, Caves, Spearfish Canyon, Reptile Gardens, Bear Country, Beautiful Lakes, and Terry Peak. More attractions, activities, and links elsewhere on this website! We look forward to you vacationing here in Nemo. |
ReviewsMarianThe swimming pool was a fabulous hit! Stayed in June 2022 We had a wonderful stay at Freebird Ranch. Our four separate families enjoyed all the accommodations, and especially cooking, eating, and playing games all in one big room. The swimming pool was a fabulous hit as well. Thank you for your wonderful hospitality. Oh and we enjoyed the Nemo Restaurant and live music on our last night there. Website:VRBO
